Creative Wednesday

Creative Wednesdays are all about creating a supportive communal space which offers locals an opportunity to meet and make without any worry of judgement or discrimination. See you there!

Creative Wednesday EVERY Wednesday Term Time from 24th April 2019

Family Art Workshop (Morning Session) 10 am - 11 am

We can’t think of a better way to show your family you love them than by making artwork of them! During our Family workshop we will be using large pieces of paper to trace and layer our outlines, then using pattern to create artwork in the style of Keith Haring and his funky figures!

Our principles are founded on inclusion so children and adults with SEN and learning difficulties are always welcome.

Adults come for free, child tickets cost £5, there is an extra charge of £2.00 for any extra siblings, please contact us for any special arrangements.

Creative Studios (Drop-In Afternoon Session) 12:00 - 2:30pm

This Creative Wednesday we will be discussing a variety of materials and techniques we can use to make products at home, the process of transforming ideas into reality, where and how to sell your products and how to price them.

We welcome people of all levels of experience. We encourage discussion and offer guidance and mentorship as well as critique, so feel free to bring your sketchbooks and portfolios along!

After School Art Workshop
(Infant session 4pm – 5pm)
(Junior session 5pm – 6.15pm)
Our regular After-school Workshops are opportunities for children to learn and practice a variety of art techniques using an extensive range of materials. Taught with close guidance, through classic and contemporary art making techniques. We will begin by teaching your child the basics and fundamentals of various techniques as well as provide a brief history of the medium that they are using and then advance to more challenging techniques and methods as they continue to grow.

Portfolio Club  5pm – 6.30pm
Portfolio Club is made for 11-16 year olds who want to dedicate more time to their art! These are smaller and thus more intense classes which allow for closer guidance. We aim for our participants to going thorough understanding of art techniques and familiarity with materials. It is a great opportunity for children to learn and practice a variety of art techniques using an extensive range of materials.

This week we are taking inspiration from Keith Haring, and working on walls, experimenting with layout, scale and pattern to create artworks from our favourite objects. It can be anything that brings us joy, maybe it’s a favourite toy, maybe it’s a train ticket from the last time we went to the seaside.

Please bring your objects along to these sessions, but don’t worry if you can’t as we will have some lovely bits you can use too!
