Monthly Open Call

Residency & Exhibition

Deadline: 20th of every month during 2020.

Barkingside Art Club has been planning our Redbridge artist based initiative over the past few months and we are delighted to present our Monthly Artist Open Call which will take place at Fullwell Cross Library. This residency style project will bring together artists from many different disciplines and will be made available to artists all year round - starting from fall, and winter, 2021 – on a bi-monthly basis.

We have developed this project to give underrepresented artists in Redbridge a creative space where they can freely create and exhibit work. We hope that this will in-turn enlighten the wider community about different mediums, processes, and conceptual approaches to art while making Fullwell Cross Library a port of call for local artists and art enthusiasts. We will also be asking artists to host their workshops for the local community so that others can learn and understand the reasons behind their process, and gain first-hand insight into their practical and cognitive process.

For this project to reach its full potential, we are currently reaching out to local businesses and press outlets to sponsor the event, looking to increase awareness of the upcoming exhibition opportunity that will soon be available to artists through the Open Call process.

Not only will this be a fun public space for the local community to visit, but it will also be a rich environment to display work from a diversity of artists who are interested in different processes. If you know anybody who may be interested in participating, please message and help us reach out to as many artists and hobbyists as possible – we would love to hear from you.
