We are very excited to introduce our goodwill organisation. AFORA, Barkingside Art Club’s newly established non-profit will develop on the community led philosophy that inspired Barkingside Art Club originally; involving inclusivity, creativity, and solidarity. Our passion for community based projects is never ending and we are always developing exciting ideas community based ideas. With that in mind, we are rebranding our goodwill work and very excited to introduce our sister organisation that will be at the forefront of our charitable projects, AFORA.
AFORA will operate as a non-profit organisation that serves the people of Borough of Redbridge, providing them with a voice to achieve new goals and develop a communal space. Varied educational courses have been developed to deliver our new approach, accommodating to each participants needs and creative ambition. In essence, AFORA is a social enterprise looking to integrate art projects for children and adults of all ages and abilities.
To celebrate this new and exciting chapter we are now looking for diligent and creative volunteers to join us on a variety of great projects. SCHOOLS
Our artistic approach to teaching and learning is focused on using art for a good cause. Barkingside Art Club believe that creativity is within everyone and allows each of us to better understand ourselves and the world we live in, regardless of age, ability or individual background. The benefits of engaging with art education is clear for all who create, bringing clear cognitive and emotional development for children, and we tailor our workshops to best suit the needs of our students.
We currently work from Fullwood Primary School and deliver courses for children of all abilities. SEN Hour is our ‘Art for A Cause’ initiative, where we welcome SEN pupils and their LSA’s to Fullwell Cross Library for an hour of creativity free of charge. Both the library, school teams and the students have been learning new communication techniques and creative skills which allows them to express themselves freely. We are extremely happy with Fullwood Primary School pupils’ progress and would love to work with more schools to deliver mutually beneficial projects of a similar nature.
If you think your school would benefit from inclusive creative art education, delivered via:
Workshops that are based outside of school
Special projects, festivals or fundraising fête’s
In school projects: such as mural painting
Art exhibitions
Art workshops for teachers and staff
Feel free to get in touch with us so we can discuss how we can work together!
BUSINESS
Creativity helps us understand the world better and our natural surroundings. It inspires, allows us to feel separate from reality, and gain a better understanding of ourselves. If that sounds good to you too, then why not hire us?
We can organise and conduct tailor made workshops for businesses, charities, private and corporate events. We believe it is very important to constantly expand and evolve. That said, we are also available for collaborative projects with particular organisations or artists! Here are just a few examples of what we can do:
charity fund-raising events
art workshops
mural painting projects
collaborations with organisations and individuals
private events
art exhibitions
For more information on our past projects have a look at our News page! If your business, charity, school or organisation is lacking in colour, we are also open for collaborations! Please go to our Contact page and get in touch, then we can send you a proposal package and plan our workshop!
