REDBRIDGE WOMEN NETWORK
The Redbridge Women Network was established in 2019 with a clear mission — to connect, empower, and celebrate the women of Redbridge. What began as an ambition to bring local women together has grown into a thriving platform for building meaningful relationships, sharing opportunities, and fostering creativity. Since its launch, the network has hosted impactful events, including a vibrant pop-up market and art exhibition featuring local women artists, photographers, and makers. Highlights from past events include a captivating performance by a professional Bollywood dancer and an inspiring talk by the UK’s youngest female CEO, who at just ten years old, reminded us all that leadership knows no age. In 2025, we are excited to expand our programme even further, introducing new creative workshops, networking events, and community meet-ups designed to uplift and empower women across Redbridge and beyond. Together, we are building a supportive community where women can connect, grow, and thrive.

Portraits and Stories of Women Online Exhibition
(project developed by our founder Eliyah Qureshi)
We want thirty participating women who currently live in the Borough of Redbridge to share their life-stories and skill-sets with the wider Redbridge community and have their portraits painted. This is a profound opportunity for the Borough of Redbridge to support and highlight the roles of women within its community. The initiative will hopefully, in turn, help solidify the community and promote the practice of storytelling, which we think will enrich the wider public with a deeper understanding of each other's lifestyles.
Eliyah Qureshi was inspired to launch this project in celebration of her own experiences and based it on an open house exhibition she delivered in 2012 - in which 150 portraits were developed and displayed. Driven by this concept, Eliyah wanted to create a link between the women's visual and literal narratives to parallel and provide insight into their lives. By depicting painted portraits alongside their written narratives she aimed to provide a greater personal dimension to their individual stories.
We will your story and portrait on our social media and website.
To take part submit a photograph and share your story to be featured.
