Home Ed Art Club

A Creative Studio for Home Educated Young People

Looking for a place where creativity, curiosity and imagination come together?

Our Home Ed Art Club is more than an art class—it’s a vibrant creative community where home educated young people aged 8–16+ can experiment, develop new skills, make friends, and grow as confident, independent artists.

Led by professional artist and art educator Eliyah Qureshi and the experienced Barkingside Art Club creative team, sessions take place at Fullwell Cross Library, providing a welcoming, inclusive and inspiring studio environment where every young person is encouraged to discover their own artistic voice.

Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already dreaming of a creative career, our programme offers exciting opportunities to learn, create and be inspired.

What Will You Explore?

Every session introduces new materials, artists and creative challenges. Young people work with a wide range of professional art materials while developing technical skills and personal creativity.

Students will explore:

  • 🎨 Acrylic & watercolour painting

  • ✏️ Drawing and observational techniques

  • 🖨️ Printmaking

  • 🏺 Clay and sculpture

  • 🖌️ Mixed media

  • 📚 Sketchbook development

  • 🌿 Nature-inspired art

  • 🎭 Contemporary and experimental art

  • 💡 Creative problem solving

  • 🖼️ Personal and collaborative projects

No two sessions are the same, with plenty of opportunities to experiment, take creative risks and discover new ways of making art.

Build Skills That Last

Our Home Ed Art Club supports young people to progress at their own pace while working towards meaningful creative achievements, including:

  • Arts Award

  • Duke of Edinburgh Award – Skills Section

  • Creative Portfolio Development

  • GCSE Art Portfolio Preparation

  • Exhibitions and community art projects

  • Creative leadership and volunteering opportunities

Students are encouraged to think independently, reflect on their work, develop ideas over time and create a portfolio that showcases their unique creativity.
